18. Working Offline
Bee Inspector works without mobile signal. You can record inspections, add notes, and navigate between hives even when you have no internet connection.
18.1 How Offline Works
- The app stores data locally on your device as you work.
- When connectivity is restored — mobile data, Wi-Fi, or returning to cell range — all pending records sync automatically to the cloud.
- Team members see synced data immediately.
18.2 Before You Go Offline
You must log in and open the app at least once while connected to the internet before using it offline. This initial connection downloads your existing data to the device cache. After that, you can go offline and work indefinitely.
Note: If you are planning to work in an area with no signal, open the app and browse through your hives while you still have connectivity. This ensures all current data is cached locally before you lose signal.
18.3 What Is Not Available Offline
- Signing in to a new account for the first time — authentication requires a network connection.
- Viewing data from a newly joined team that has not yet been cached.
