5. Hives

Each hive record represents one physical colony. You can configure its type, color marking, frame count, and other details.

5.1 Adding a Hive

  1. Open an apiary.
  2. Tap the + button.
  3. Fill in the hive name (e.g. "Hive 1", "Nuc A").
  4. Select the hive type: Langstroth, Warre, Top Bar, Nuc, Long Hive, or Other.
  5. Set the color (optional — useful for quick visual identification at the apiary).
  6. Enter the installation or establishment date.
  7. Set the number of frames and brood boxes.
  8. Tap Save.

5.2 Hive Detail Screen

Tap a hive card to open its detail screen. This is your main working area for a single colony. The screen is organized into tabs:

QueenCurrent queen record and score card. Tap + to add a queen.
InspectionsFull inspection history. Tap + to start a new inspection. Tap any record to view its detail.
SupersTrack honey supers on this hive — add, remove, and note their status throughout the season.
TreatmentsAll treatment records for this hive, including those entered via the inspection form.
NotesHive-specific notes and reminders. Tap + to add a note or set a task with a reminder date.
Hive HistoryTimeline of significant events: splits, combines, queen changes, inactivation.

5.3 Editing a Hive

Tap the pencil icon in the top right of the hive detail screen to edit the hive. You can update the name, type, frame count, brood boxes, color, and installation date. The three-dot menu (⋮) gives access to Delete and Mark as Inactive.
